| Thinking about going to this show too, but I haven't decided yet. I got two shows before this one and then LA the next day, so I'm not sure how the sleep thing is going to work out for me, so I don't know. |

I know this is late, I should have posted that same night when I got back exhausted and full of their music in my head! But better late than never I guess!
My buddy and I reached early 4ish and saw the Rock and Roll Fantasy Campers standing in a line waiting to be taken up. I thought initially that that was the line itself and when I saw folks with guitars and stuff I was like "WTF? Are we gonna get to meet and greet with Extreme?!" but then I quickly realized the whole deal. So we went up to the Sundance Theatre's bar and sat there for a while because there was no line even at 4:30 (disappointing!).
Anyways, when we entered the auditorium there were very few folks in there (well, we were ahead in the line too ) and we went right to the railings near the stage! I could not believe I was gonna see Extreme so up close and this being my first Extreme concert. I was kicking myself for not charging my camera the previous night because I don't think I am gonna have another opportunity to take pictures from so close!!
The fantasy campers played from 6:15 to 7:45. It was fun to headbang to Symphony of Destruction, Trooper, Breaking the Law, etc. I was feeling bad that when Ellefson came on stage no one was calling out his name or cheering. Megadeth is one of the biggest bands on the planet. Anyways...
Kings X played really good shit. I had never heard them but they rocked! They played from 8ish to 9ish..
Now to the real deal. What can I say!? Extreme kicked ass! They started at 9:30 and played till 11:30!! 2 hours of amazing music! Since I was smack in the middle and right near the stage I got to see all Nuno's solos clear and near I cannot describe the feeling. I also found a pick he threw at us and I already see the difference in my playing when I use his pick
-------------------------------------------
Set List:
======
Comf. Dumb
Decadence Dance
Monster
Rest in Peace
Medley of Kid Ego, Little Girls, Play with Me.
Bumblebee
Get the Fu*k out
Midnight Express
MTW
Ghost
Take Us Alive
Cupid
Am I Ever Gonna Change
Something I don't already Know
Star
Encore
---------
Mutha
Hole Hearted
-------------------------------------------
They were amazingly tight, Gary was doing all his antics Nuno was cracking his usual smart-ass jokes , Pat was pounding and Kevin rocked! I got a chance to meet Kevin in the lobby when I was buying my Extreme T-shirt.
OK..more later.. gotta get to work (I saw the other avenues posting loads of reviews so I wanted to make sure SF is not lagging behind ;))

Sounds like another great show. Strange they moved Star to the end of the set, and stopped playing Slide...
Hope Robert took his camera and got up close! Send us your report later!! _________________ Destination still unknown

The setlist that rumpelstiltzkin posted has the correct songs, but not the correct order. Star wasn't at the end, and the final song in the encore was Mutha.
I got to the Fillmore around 6:00 and instead of going in I hung around the side stage door to see if I could meet the band. After a few minutes I noticed Nuno and K-Fig hanging out just on the other side of the fence. They both came out after just a few minutes and I got to chat with both of them for a few minutes and they both signed everything I brought. There were only a couple of other fans hanging out then so everything was very cool and low key. I hung out for quit a while to try to meet Gary and Pat. At one point Gary came out and made a fast beeline to the tour bus. He looked like he was in a hurry so I didn't try to stop him. I talked with a couple other fans trying to wait it out. About 5 minutes after Nuno left I forgot that I wanted to ask him about the similarity in guitar riff between Comfortably Dumb and Nazareth's Changing Times. I never saw him outside again but K-Fig walked by several times so I decided to ask him if he knew anything about it. He said he didn't know but that riff and much of the rest of the song was written before the breakup 12 years ago. I thought that was interesting, especially since that song has a bit of a WFTP feel to it. Gary came out of the tour bus about an hour later and made a beeline to the side door. He did stop for a photo with one fan, but didn't stop to sign anything of mingle. I had enough waiting at this point and went in. Kings X put on a good show. By the time Extreme came on I was about 3 people back from Nuno. Several guitar picks were tossed in my direction, but I didn't get any. The show was great. They showed a ton of energy. Gary was drenched in sweat by the 3rd song. Compared to seeing them from a long way back at Rocklahoma, it was a completely different experience seeing them up close. Gary, Nuno and K-Fig all looked like they were having a great time. Pat had a look on his face much of the show like he was mad or upset, but he did smile on quit a few occasions as well. The entire band was tight and sounded great.
After the show I went back to hanging out by the side door to see if I could meet Gary and Pat (and maybe Nuno again to ask him about that riff). I stayed for about 45 minutes, but I couldn't stay any longer than that since I had to work early the next morning. Kings X came out and signed autographs and met with fans during this time but I didn't bring anything for them to sign as opening bands usually leave way before the end of the headliners set so I didn't expect to get to meet them. They also handed out Kings X stickers.
I forgot to bring my camera since I was coming directly from work. I was a little bummed since I was in a great spot and I could have gotten a picture with Nuno and Kevin. Oh well, next time. |

It's great you met Nuno and Kevin! A little about Pat and Gary, but the most important is you had a great time at the show!
It sounds like your spot was a little better than our one at Rocklahoma, hehe. Or should I say *your* spot? _________________ Destination still unknown

I just got home from my vacation in Nor Cal last night, so I haven't had a chance to post.
The Fillmore show was great. I love the venue. It so cool looking and historic. Anyway, the set list was much like the show in Boston, instead of Its A Monster being the encore, we heard Mutha.
Got to the venue at about 4pm, but no one was in line yet so we walked around. Returned at about 5/5:30ish and wound up about 50 people back. However, we got inside and wound up front row in front of Nuno. Can't beat that. In fact, that's never happened to me before. I usually wind up in front of Pat because there are less people standing there.
Met Kip Winger before the show...and Doug from Kings X. They were walking around outside. Didn't hang around afterwards to try to see the guys though. Long night and my friend and I were exhausted. We had spent all day at Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39 and Japantown. _________________
