Oh, yeah, me will be there!
Got that day off work; we will drive there early enough so we enter the venue before everybody else (fingers crossed that I will get the "Pass the Line" tickets)... after the show we will drive to Ft. Lauderdale most likely, and get to see them again!!
If anyone wants to meet there , send a smoke signal! Or just reply here... _________________ Marcia

My wife and I will be there. We have loge seats, but might eat first and see if we can skip the line anyway.
Looking forward to it immensely. |

Hey, you're in Riverview! Too funyy, we were in your neck of the wood yesterday. Took a motorcycle ride to Balm, then ended up in some redneck/biker/country bar called The River's Edge in Riverview. Nice digs!
We plan on eating first, too... we will see how that works, though, we have never been there.
My goal is being upfront, as I am not tall at all and far sighted!
We can have a double Extreme date! Is your wife a fan, too? My husband likes Extreme, but he has never seen them play.
I can hardly wait for Aug. 15th!! _________________ Marcia

Doors open at 5:30, so you'll want to be there as early as possible if you want to get front of the line. I've never tried the 'dine to skip the line' thing before, so I don't know how successful that is.
And yes, my wife is a big Extreme fan. She tends to like just about everything I play for her, but she reaally likes Extreme. Her favorite song is "Cupid's Dead."
Odd that you were in Riverview of all places. I've never heard of the River's Edge, but I'm guessing it's on 301 somewhere. Just about everything is. |

It is actually right by US 41... but, yeah, not far from US 301 either. It was the longest wait for a burger, but worth it.
I know! I wonder why doors will open so early...

Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp starts at 6, I believe. If it works like I think it will, it's like a battle of the bands. We'll see a performance from each group of campers, then hopefully a performance by the counselors (incl. Mark Slaughter, Kip Winger, Glenn Hughes, Gilby Clark, Chris Slade).
Assuming King's X is performing, they probably start at 8. |

Welcome onboard! Coolness you mean inside the HOBO, right? Because outside it will feel like an oven! They're brave to venture through Florida in August! _________________ Marcia

| Just bought tickets.. not my favorite venue, but sounds like an awesome concert. Almost bought tickets for King's X over at St. Pete recently.. so this is like a double bonus. |

I've been there a couple of times, but the only live hard rock show I've seen was Disturbed. There's lots of balcony areas above the main floor and tha's where we sat, but it was tough as we didn't have reserved spots so we were often stuck looking at the backs of peoples heads. The venue itself is a fairly decent size, much larger than the HOB in Cambridge (only other HOB I've ever been to).
I plan to be there as early as possible and will probably try to do the dine thing, though we did that for Disturbed and it didn't seem all that much quicker.
As for shirts I hadn't even thought about that About the only thing wearable I may have left is a TOJ tank top. Zoiks! Everything else fell apart or didn't fit anymore Of course that will probably give me a good excuse to make a few purchases!
Gonna be fun! |

Yeah, I always hear people complain about the general lay out of that venue... but who cares, like you said, it will be fun anyhow! It will be actually the first time we go to Orlando... if the weather just behaves, we will have an awesome time. _________________ Marcia

Hi There, Kidg.! Welcome onboard!!
Cool! So we might bump into each other at both venues! I should be in Orlando early, since we will leave Clearwater in the morning... Not sure if we will ride our bike... It will be my husband Patrick and I, and a couple of friends from Carolina. _________________ Marcia

Hey Marcia,
Yeah, I will be in and around the H.O.B. earlier in the day waiting for the show. It would be great to meet some fans there like you to chat about the band and share stories... -Steve _________________ Watching, waiting, staring at the sun... |

| I asked about a Meet and Greet at the HOB in Orlando and you know what I was told by the guy at the box office? That I would need to get in contact with the band itself for a meet and greet. How silly of me! I totally forgot I have Nunos and Garys along with Fig and Pats phone numbers in my phone! I totally wasted that guys time. I looked at the guy and said "thanks, I'll get right on that." So needless to say I have no idea if there is a meet and greet at the HOB in Orlando. Kinda bummed. |

I keep asking, but no one has really answered me yet, so...
I think that people aren't all thinking of the same thing when they use the term "meet and greet" and/or understand how meet and greets work. Keep in mind that I'm old school. I don't know how today's kids organize these things. But having followed Extreme around for awhile (and seeing how a few other artists do it), here's my impression. Those who have more knowledge, feel free to correct anything that's not accurate.
Hanging out by the bus is not a meet and greet. It's hanging out by the bus. It requires a bit of timing (especially before the show) and patience, but it's free, you don't have to know anyone connected to the band and/or the venue, and if you can hang around long enough, you have fairly high odds of success--especially with Extreme.
An actual "meet and greet" is an organized thing that typically takes place within the walls of the venue, either before they've let people in, or more likely after they've cleared most of the people out after the show. You typically have to have something on your person to gain admission. In the past, it was usually a self-stick pass (laminates on neck cords are usually for people who'll be around for more than one or two shows, i.e., staff); lately, papery wristbands seem to be de rigeur. You usually have to have an "in"--someone in or near the band, someone at the venue, a radio station contest win or something like that to get the wristband.
Nuno and Pat came out into the club after the Rams Head show (Baltimore, MD). In my pea brain, it was not a meet and greet because it wasn't an organized thing, and anyone who was still hanging around the club was free to walk up to either one of them, say hello, ask for an autograph, take a photo, whatever. No list of names, no one checking for a wristband.
I know I've yammered on about this, but I want to make sure people know there doesn't have to be a meet and greet in order to meet members of Extreme. Don't assume that just because you don't have that "in" that it won't happen for you. As long as they're on the club/small theater circuit, it's really not that hard. If you have to leave immediately after a show for whatever reason (kiddos at home, a long drive, you have to be at work the next day, etc.), it will lessen your chances, but it's not impossible. Don't get discouraged. I've been going to see Extreme in concert since 1991 and I've only had meet and greet passes twice, but I've met them multiple times, just by hanging around and being patient. I'm not pushy, but I can wait patiently with the best of them, and I'm living proof that it works. |

| Hey Willie, I had just read that certain venues were actually selling an upgraded ticket to have a official meet and greet so thats what I actually asked the guy at the box office booth at HOB and his answer was what I wrote. Pretty silly answer if you ask me. If I was able to contact the band I wouldnt need the meet and greet. I was just trying to go about in the best way possible rather than taking the chance of hanging out somewhere and maybe having Extreme show up but Im more than willing to be patient and not pushy like you said. Done it before. I actually met Nuno twice, once way back on his Schizo tour in Sanford FL. there was maybe twenty people there to see him so it was pretty easy to meet him and another time when he actually gave a clinic at Dr Music in Altamonte Fl way back before Porno or right around that time actually. Both times he was great. |

Angelo,
There might be meeting and greeting, but so sure yet... I should have a confirmation right around noon, when Patrick and I get there... hopefully we will find each other there... PM me if you would like to make sure by giving us your cell phone #, if you have one... I will give ours, too!
Two days only!!! I have been SO excited, I can't sleep! Patrick is really getting into Comfortable Dumb and Learn to Love, which I wish they would play... _________________ Marcia
