I am there too! do tickets for this show go on sale next week cause there's nothing listed yet on ticketmaster?

Not sure. I know the show is listed on the Emerald Theater's website but nothing about tickets last I saw.

That Mike in the morning at WRIF is a dick! I just told him so on a MySpace message!

During a plug for Extreme he had NOTHING nice to say about Gary. He brought up Van Halen and was being a total jerk. Stupid ass! Rolling Eyes

Far as i've heard there is not a meet and greet, however, before you run out to the bus, check the t shirt stand. A few times i've been to a show out there and after the set the band signs autographs at the tshirt stand by the door.

Mike in the morning never has anything good to say about "hair bands"

Well, I sent him an email and told him that he SUCKS! I wouldn't exactly call Extreme a "hair band" but either way with an attitude like that I'd say he's working for the wrong radio station because WRIF plays alot if that kind of music.

As for the meet and greet, I can't say for sure that there is one but I was told it depends on the distance to the next venue. Chicago is fairly close so I don't see why not!

I look forward to this show! The Emerald Theater is where my husband and had our first date! His band played there back in the day when it was called JD's Macomb Theater! I had a backstage pass... of course, he wasn't exactly famous but knowing I've got to see the backstage area is pretty cool! Laughing

it should be easy to get to meet the guys, I've met alot of other bands doing what I do. I guess I just want things to work out and a have a killer week seeing Extreme!! I'll be seeing them 3 times next week so there's plenty of opportunity! I met Gary & Nuno in '95 but didn't get a photo unfortunately!

Mike on RIF is a testament to how bad radio is in Detroit and how low the standards are.........that show actually has ratings. Nothing more exciting than listening to 4 hours of a guy reading from the paper while he sips his hangover helper. And BTW, Mike knows nothing about music.....I heard him criticize a singers "tremelo" once.....it's a vibrato genius! He also made fun of a singer who's bandmate said he was classically trained by asking did he really sing opera?.....so here's to America, where an unfunny, untalented ugly DJ (who loves to make fun of women's looks) has a job.
Anyway, I'm bringing my 12 year old boy Friday and he's ready to rock. Lucky for me I love King's X and Extreme.

My husband loves Mike at WRIF and is constantly telling me what he says and I could care less! He just got on my last nerve when he started making comments about Gary and I had to let him know. I don't think WRIF shares the same opinion. Doug Podell seems to be a pretty cool guy. I think Mike's cockiness gives them good ratings so they keep the idiot!

Hi Bambi,
I'm a newbee who doesn't want to offend anyone right out of the box so I'll just say that maybe a lot of guys (who are their biggest demo) like Mike on RIF because he takes an every guy, blue collar approach.....kinda like, hey, I could do what Mike's doing on the radio; know what I mean? I do notice Detroit radio seems to employ many Jersey radio rejects (where I used to live) so maybe Mike being a local has further appeal. I just think he and his parter who's on hiatus don't know anything about music. Or comedy sketches for that matter.

More importantly, I love your enthusiasm for this board. I've been playing Extreme for my boy and he is looking forward to seeing them and King's X. School of rock is very important here.

I am just sick about the fact that I'm going to miss this show. But I have another commitment and you do what you've got to do. I'm now extra-glad I made the trip all the way to Foxwoods a couple years ago.

I also feel like the only one around here who doesn't have the CD yet! I know I'm not, but it feels that way. It's pathetic, really: for a week now I've been waiting for the mail carrier to leave a CD at my door. Every time he shows up I run out there hoping ... it's pathetic.

C'mon Cliff Claven, bring me my CD!

And have fun, all you folks going to this show. I'm only 2 hours away. I should be there. But I won't be.

See you on the yet-to-be-announced leg of the tour, I hope!
