I'm bidding on a set of really nice 75' kz400 carbs on ebay rite now. They need cleaned.I'm going to just rebuild them. But how do you set the float level on these carbs?I've never done it before.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Thanks. _________________ 1979 KZ400h1 custom.

Below is a pic on how the correct way to do it... The process is very well outlined in the Kawasaki Service Manual, available from kz400.com (where I linked the pic below)...
You can make your own float level tool, and there are some tips on kz400.com about that too. Some guys measure them upside-down, by removing the bowls and flipping the carb over, and measuring the distance from gasket surface to float top/bottom. But this method does not validate that the fuel level is where it is supposed to be (or prove/disprove working float jets), but it can be a great starting point.
To adjust, you just bend the little tine on the float. Just a tiny bit makes a big difference!
