I just got my tickets, train tickets and booked my hotel. I'm staying at the Congress Plaza Hotel near the House Of Blues.

*If anyone wants to meet up, let me know via PM.

After taxes and everything else it came to around $145.00. If you want anything decent and even remotely close to the venue, it will cost you a lot more. That hotel was by far the cheapest and closest I could find in my price range. I absolutely HATE paying $145, especially since I will only be sleeping for a few hours there, but they get you by the balls and they know it!

Yeah that pretty much sucks! It's be worth it to see an awesome concert!

I might look in to getting a room there too. Do you take a taxi to the concert? We may do that to avoid driving any more than we have to in that crazy town unless Kevin's bass player decides to come along. Laughing He lived in Chicago for many years and knows his way around. He wants to go but he works for Serv-Pro and they make him work crazy hours and he has to fight to get time off.

Yeah, I'll be taking a taxi if it's too far to walk or whatever. We could split a cab if you end up staying at the same hotel. My 17 year-old nephew (born and raised on Nuno) is coming along, he's super excited!

Cool!!! I love turning on the kids to Extreme/Nuno! My 14 year old can't get enough of the song "Warheads" Laughing I thought about bringing him to the Detroit show but he's a bit of an oddball. He's got Aspergers(a form of Autism) and he freaks out easily. Laughing

I'll definitely keep the cab thing in mind!

How is it that you were already able to purchase tickets if the email from Monday morning said tickets go on sale nationally the weekend of May 16th? I just went to the House of Blues website at http://www.hob.com/apps/search/index.asp?q=extreme and it says the tickets go on sale on May 16th.

I was telling my cousin about Extreme and he just turned 17 a few months ago, so thankfully the House of Blues is 17+. Woo-hoo! And my other cousin is 32 and a huge Kings X fan, so I think I'll be picking up at least three tickets.

Thanks!
Matt

Did you go through Priceline to name your own price for your hotel room? A few years ago, I paid $50 a night for eight nights at the Hilton in Los Angeles, CA. Since then, they seemed to have raised the lowest amount they would accept per night at their hotel and I kept getting declined all the way up to $65 per night. But for Chicago, I'd think you'd be able to skate by for about $80 a night maximum, though I've never gotten a hotel in Chicago before... except for the Health Freedom Expo last year, but that seemed to be the outskirts of Chicago. Okay, it was Schaumburg, IL. I think I paid $40 per night at the hotel I stayed at, which was a pretty decent 2.5-star hotel.

But for the Extreme show, if I don't forget to pick up some tickets on Friday (or before then if you tell me how), we'll probably be driving from Milwaukee, WI, to Chicago and then driving back home the same night.

Today on the news they said that by the end of summer gas prices will likely rise up to $5.00 per gallon. My husband looked at me and said "Looks like we might have to cancel that Chicago trip." Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Shocked I told him we won't do any such thing. I am going with or without him! Laughing He changed his mind in a hurry because he knows I am not kidding. I went to Maryland without him in 2004 and that was a 12+ hour drive!!

I already agreed to not get our Cedar Point Season Passes for the family to get to go to Chicago. That alone is saving us a ton of money because we usually go about 7-10 times per year and it's a 4 hour drive! We are gonna goto Cedar Point once and do Chicago instead. It will be totally worth it!

I am so excited about these concerts!

Very Happy

We just hit over $4 a gallon here in So Cal, so I highly believe $5 at the end of summer.

We are right around $4.00 now! It's ridiculous!

I remember when I learned to drive it was less than $1.00... I am not THAT old! Laughing

Yes, I have that same poster! I used to have it hanging in my bedroom but when we moved I put it on the wall in the basement! Laughing I felt like the guys were watching me and my husband. Laughing I was feeling guilty!

Yes, it's a framed DramaGods poster that is hanging in my bedroom. It's autographed by all the band members. I have two of them, one is in the original cardboard tube it was shipped in. These were a limited edition item through the old Population 1 website and only available when you purchased the EP "Sessions From Room 4".

Same here. Autographed and still in it's tube. When I move to a place that holds nails or screws on the wall's I'll put it in frames. I thought that I'd also frame the Population 1 t-shirt, you know like you'd frame a football player's shirt. The "population" text with the big red 1 facing forwards.

Awesome photo, NunoFreak! Love it!

I may have to do the same thing, only with the III Sides poster that's hung in every bedroom I've occupied since that tour. Cool

I know this is off-topic, but I just had to tell you that we dream of prices like that here in the UK. If my calculations are correct (I sound like a weird scientist - and I like it) we're paying $9.97 a gallon!!!
