Your lucky for sure URchemist, I was just in Vegas May 7-11th and no Extreme. A month later they announce dates, of course no where near me:(
But all is OK cuz me and 2 of my friends decided we are going back to Vegas to see Extreme! Still havn't got the time off of work but my flight and hotel and concert ticket has been purchased so to hell with work.
Obviously I need to track them down if I want to see them and that I do so Hello again Vegas! It'll be my first time seeing them, can't wait. Anyone have any nohows of how i can meet them please pass them on! Bring on July 18th, 2009 I'm a newbie! _________________ God only knows thats what you do to me |

The Vegas show is going to be a blast....
I had the pleasure of catching their Vegas show back in August 08 and it was FAN-DAMN-TASTIC!!! They sounded amazing and were completely humbled by the out pouring of love and respect us fans showed them. After a year of touring they should sound even better and hopefully have a few surprises in for us.....
I'll be there this time too.....with my beautiful wife in one hand and my iphone in the other........taking pics and "tweeting" every chance I GET!!!
I hope to see you there!

Ya.........the Hard Rock is always expensive. During the summer though, there is no such thing as a cheap hotel on the strip. Yuk. I still havent found a room yet either. I only live a little over an hour from Vegas so I could always drive home after the show but who wants to do that. Vegas + summer + Extreme = ALLNIGHTER! Who needs sleep?
If I find a good deal on a room I'll pass on the info.........
See ya at the show............D _________________ Scream until ya like it!!! |

So I'm heading to Seattle today to fly from there to Vegas tomorrow. So excited first time seeing Extreme. At the moment it kinda seems unreal to me my 2 friends and I decided to say "to heck with it, we can't really afford it but who cares, let's do it", so we are. I'll be the curly haired blonde centre right of the stage looking like a kid in a candy store! See you all Saturday night. I'm pumped! _________________ God only knows thats what you do to me |

I was just reading an article in USA Today last week about the unbelievable deals in Las Vegas during this summer. They said summer is their lowest season for tourism and they have some rooms at good hotels for $20-$40 a night and even some on the strip for under $40, including the Hard Rock.
I just found the article:

| I too will be at the show with my beautiful wife. I cant wait. Spending four days in Vegas for a much needed vacation. We are eating dinner before the show at Rare 120 degrees, the steak and seafood place at the Hard Rock, has anyone eaten there before? If so, was it good? any suggestions on what to order. |

From Metal Sludge member 'motleyrob'
| Quote: | Extreme - the musicianship you would expect. The band, the backup vocals, Nuno's playing, all top notch. Opened with Decadence Dance, right into It's a Monster. Played Star and They'll Never Take us Alive off the new album. Great rendition of Am I Ever Gonna Change. These guys just sound great live. They played songs I didn't really care for but I can't say one bad word about their professionalism.
Ratt - I'm a much bigger Ratt fan and was really looking forward to this. They opened with Tell the World, we got Slip, Body Talk, I Want a Woman, Way Cool, etc. We got Out of the Cellar in it's entirety. Should have been a fantastic show right? Blotzer has evolved into a really tight drummer, the band sounded great, Warren is Warren. After watching Nuno he was a little less earth shattering but who wouldn't be? But for fuck's sake, Stephen just ruined the whole night for me. How do you not know the words to every fucking song and especially when you wrote most of them? His lazy approach to "singing" just blew it for me and I heard just about everyone around me saying similar things. Half the time he's basically talking the words. It seems like he could do better if he gave a fuck but who am I to say? I was really looking forward to In Your Direction and She Wants Money but he just fucked those songs up bad. You can't even sing along because what you're hearing sounds nothing like what you're expecting. This was the second time I've taken my woman to see Ratt and she asked me to please never make her see Ratt again. To me, there's just no excuse for performances like this. Ratt, I've always loved their music, even looking forward to buying their new album. Not that they even gave us one little taste of this new stuff, what was up with that? Anyway, I'm officially done going to Ratt concerts. It's completely useless and pointless. Just my take and of course it's just my opinion. |

NF, that review from Metal Sludge..... ooof.
Altho, to be honest, it's not much different than my own comments about the LA gig Friday night. DeMartini and Blotzer were both on their A-games, but everyone else..... well, not.
About to head out the door and brave crossing the Orange Wall for the Anaheim show. Three shows in three nights for these guys, yikes. |

Extreme were on fire last night!! They went on at 8:20, 10 minutes early, that shows how much these guys love to perform. Also the doors opened at 7 and there was no opening act so they could've gone on earlier and done a full set, bad planning by the HR. Extreme put on one of the best shows ive seen them do. It was if they were proving that they should be headlining(which they shoould). The set was the same as the other shows, except after the MJ song they didnt want to leave the stage so they did RnR All Nite by KISS, totally unexspected! The stage was very small but Gary jumped and climbed every inch and put on a great performance. The pool area was beautiful but its not adequate for concerts, theres no room for a decent stage and not much space for people to stand.
I like Ratt but I only stayed for a couple of songs, there is no comparison between bands, Extreme is so much better. I saw them back in 91' and they have'nt slowed down at all, no other band can touch them.

Vegas rocked!!! toral's review is pretty spot on. Extreme sounded great. Ratt did not ( and I'm actually a fan. ) After over a year of touring, Extreme are even tighter ( if thats even possible ), and having so much fun together on stage! It's just AMAZING how Gary can take such a small stage and make it seem ten times as big as it really is..........
The heat was insane and the rain only made the humidity Hell like! So Gary and Nuno's sweat was flowing half way through the first song.
Side note - there were two sisters in front of me and my wife and one of them became very ill from the heat and they both had to leave ( around Hole Hearted ).....they were both extremely nice and HUGE Extreme fans. So if by some chance either one of you are reading this.............."I hope you are feeling better and thank you for your kindness and jolly attitude in the unbearable heat before the show.....feel better and see you at the next show......."
I have plenty of pictures and I'll try to upload a few (been having trouble though - my computer isnt playing nice with the forum lately...). I also have a few videos but the sound needs to be tweaked - my fault for being up front I guess......if anyone has some tips for adjusting video sound - I'm listening.......
I tried my best to "tweet" as much as possible during the show........I hope you guys liked it........ It's just sooooo hard to type when you have an N4 three feet in front of your face!!!!
I met Gary before the show.......almost by accident! Pat was signing autographs and taking pics for some fans and I proceeded to place myself beside the gathering of people and wait my turn. I was soooooo excited at the thought of shaking his hand when the person next to me nudged me and said "Excuse me, I'll be a second......." It was Gary and he handed the camera he was taking a picture with back to its owner and ran over to where Pat was with a wink and a grin pointed my direction..........to which I said ( in the most girlish of voices! ) "HOLY CRAP!"
He laughed as he posed for a few photos and then both he and Pat spent at least ten minutes talking with me by myself.............
They were both the best human beings you could possibly hope for. They were waiting on Nuno to sound check. I asked Gary about all the talk of canceling the gig cuz of the approaching rain and he hadn't heard a peep about it. So he leaned over and asked the Hard Rock security guy what the deal was and the security guy said "Hey, thats how it goes around here - if it rains, it rains and we cancel...." Gary rolled his eyes and leaned back to me and said "We'll go on." He shook my hand and Nuno came out from the elevators and proceeded to take pics with a couple fans. The same security guard kept saying to him that he needed to hurry up - they were late for sound check. But Nuno kept smiling for pics and said "Don't worry - we got all night......" Pretty cool huh!
Another great night, another great show............I hope the upcoming shows are just as amazing for the rest of the fans. Gary said they'll be back soon..............nice!
Do you - wanna - play?..................D
