You're not alone, I plan to pick up tickets tomorrow morning!
Of course this concert was announced right after I'd arranged tickets for the London show!
If anyone from Amsterdam/Haarlem area fancies Carpooling, give me a shout! _________________ www.myspace.com/andywill |

Nuno-fan welcome on board!
I' m coming from Den Helder,
I really don't like to make any extra stops in other towns to pick people up (problem is more to bring people home in the night, I rather go straight home )
anyway, If you have really trouble to get there (and andy was your only change) we nuno's must help eachother. so if that's the case .. I will help out, just let me know
but we're Leaving Early , about 14:00
(the gig wil cause me two whole days!)
So we can relax a little and have a meal and drink
we're with two persons so I have two seats left.
Just two weeks to go!!
btw it amazed me that the gig is not sold out! |

Hi dutchbettencourt, thanks for the welcome.
And thanks for the offer to carpool. To make it equally easy, I can join and leave you guys at/from Den Helder.
The going is no problem, its the return that's more of a question. Last train from Tilburg/D.H to Amsterdam is at 11.25/35pm. I'm not sure when the gig will end.

Sorry for my late reply, didn't get any mail to say there were any updates to the thread!
Still deciding how I'm gonna get there, so gotta chat with my buddy coming with me. Plus still need to check if another friend will be buying a ticket.
Keep in contact and we can make a plan as the time approaches! Might have to gamble the train otherwise. _________________ www.myspace.com/andywill |

| Can wait for tonight. The hours can't pass quickly before it's 20h tonight. I still have a 2 hour drive to get there, but that's a small one to see them. |

FINALLY after 17 years of being a fan i got to see extreme last night,.... almost didnt go cos still felt majorly rough, but so glad i did....
venue was a cool size, pretty small size room with ascending levels for the audience starting only twenty feet away from the stage, so great if you want to hang back and watch the whole thing kick off,... had a very comfortable view,
..support band were a comedy act right? or am i missing something,... guess thats the problem when writing songs around guitar solos.....
...after that started what i assume is nuno and gary's choice of build up music??, stevie wonder,nikka costa,jamiroquai,prince,.... good way to introduce some melody and groove into the night.... and then;
the intro music came on,.. i swear i coulda listened to it all night, the everything under the sun instrumental thing reminded you of just how good a composer nuno is,..... just beautiful,.... although the excitment drives you insane at this point,.....
.....comfortably dumb. probs my fave track on the new album. played in my opinion BETTER than on the cd. great nuno intro(extended solo out of this world) and the sound quality from where i was sounded great,... maybe TOO great in that it was probably the most naked sounding rock band ive ever heard, very little vocal reverb and no hiding behind distortion or feedback,.... if intentional its the bravest and most honest sound ive ever heard, muchos kudos.
had never seen gary perform in real life. for me he was the star of the show by a mile.his voice is incredible.far better than on the cd, and than any live recording ive heard.engaging,enchanting,insane. the guy is a freakin whirlwind. love him. amazing.
so, the show proceeded pretty much like the previous shows setlists, all good basically, dont think i heard a wrong note from nuno all night and his solos were played with an intensity and precision its RARE to see live, esp in this genre(whatever genre you want to put extreme in....)...and more importantly they all seemed to have a blast.Pat good and solid, melodic and aggressive in all the right proportions.
shame there was a feedback problem during midnight express, good crowd singalong during mtw,..... gary rode pat's bass rig like a cowboy, climbed the speakers and made a monkey impression, headbutted and pushed pat along with his head,....i swear that guys been doing yoga an hour a day for the last ten years. puts any frontman to shame ive EVER seen.period.
for me the setlist culdve been funkier(Slide wouldve been perfect),and maybe overall the tempo's were a little 'steady' ...but thats purely personal choice, it was a fantastic show.will live with me forever...the band all visibly appreciative..looking forward to as many uk shows as my credit card will allow(or touting outside the venues ,..whatever it takes hehe)
for those of you with the opportunity to go see these guys NOW, i recommend it so wholeheartedly. yeeehaw

great review. they were indeed amazing and I have never seen any band this great and I have seen Metallica, Kiss, Aerosmith. Must be the small size of the club, it was really cosy and fun.
can anyone help me with the setlist. I think these were the songs in chronological order of the cd's, but what is the correct order in which they played it?:
medley Kid Ego / Little Girls / Play with me
More than words
Hole hearted
Decadence Dance
Get the funk out
It's a monster
Flight of the wounded bumble bee
Cupid's dead
Am I ever gonna change
Rest in Peace
Tell me something I don't know
Midnight Express
Star
Comfortably dumb
Ghost
Take us alive
did I miss anything? please help me with the right order it was played. |

It was GREAT!!! I was at the front facing Nuno and seeing the guy doing his thing with so much love and intensity, you realize how good this guy is in writing and playing his music! The whole band shined, Gary's voice was great and all the 2nd vocals were great too... This band made sure they could give a great performance! They rocked the house!
Zou graag wat materiaal van die avond ontvangen als souvenir. |

Last time I participated in a Extreme venue was in Eindhoven at Dynamo open air. Nuno walking around with some kind of knee brace. There they made a huge impact/impression on me.... stunning gig.
Yesterday's gig was even more awesome(and that is an understatement!!!!), and I have to agree, the best concert that I have seen untill now as well. Do these guys become any older?!! Like said before Raw, intense, virtuous and more, and all within reachable distance! The atmosphere was friendly and intimate. Togehter with a nice beer..... a more than perfect monday evening!! Guys, you blasted me away! Please come back a bit earlier next time..... Will ya!!!
I will proudly wear my 2008 extreme tour T, when playing my N2 on our own gigs! |

Hi,
To get things on the way, I copied the main set-list. I only have my doubts about the order of Star.. thought they did that one earlier.
Comfortably Dumb
Decadence Dance
Rest In Peace
It('s A Monster)
Tell Me Something I Don't Know
Star
Medley (Kid Ego/Little Girls/Teacher's Pet)
Play With Me
Midnight Express
More Than Words (with fake "Stairway" intro)
Ghost
Cupid's Dead (with Sam Cooke intro)
Take Us Alive (with the Elvis song at the end)
Flight of the Wounded Bumblebee
Get The Funk Out
Encore
Am I Ever Gonna Change?

Thanks for sharing your review.
Glad everybody enjoyed it and had a blast like many of us already did who saw EXTREME in the US Tour.
Extreme is not just MORE THAN WORDS like some people think. They are way more than that and Live.. I never saw a band with such a Stage preformance so passion then Extreme. Gary is the STAR.... and with his unique voice the MEN..
Nuno awsome as always, Pat.. I love lisening Pat playing his Bass but last and not least KFigg. I think he is the right choice for this Band. He is the Bomb on Drums incredible.
Hopefully we dont need to wait 13 yrs again or some of you 17 yrs. to see them live on Stage again. |
