You'll be fine- Southampton doesn't have a football team anymore. Laughing

It's difficult to say what time the concert will finish.

I went to Cambridge to see the band last week and they overan by about 30 minutes, maybe more. I think the 'official' time it's supposed to finish is about 10-30 but in Cambridge they finished playing at about 11-15pm so me and my friend missed the last train back and had to look around for somewhere to stay - which meant paying out for the bed and breakfast, then having to buy a new train ticket to come home the next day!!

I checked the train times back from Southampton and the last one I can get is 11pm and I know there is no chance that I can get that, so I've booked a guest house quite near to the Guild Hall for that night

Hi everyone, I am also going. I can't wait and am very excited already! It's been so long! I will probably get to the stage door mid afternoon to see if can meet them when they arrive (never met them before) so if you are there you may see me with my girlfriend!

Cant wait for the show!

Thanks a lot for your help. I think i'll try to find if there is a room left in any of the guest houses near GuildHall.

Hope to see many of you there!

Well it's almost time my little cyber chums.

The day for me will go something like this:

Day off work - cool

8.00am - rudely awoken by the Gas Man come to service my heating and boiler.

8.10 - Gasman condemns boiler so it's another six months without heating and hot water - still it's all rock and roll eh?

11.00am – Meet up with my best (and only trusted) pal ‘Johnny boy’ to catch the train to Southampton.

12.30 -1.00 Arrive at Southampton full of expectation and a little bit of dread.

1.00ish Find hostelry that serves finest English Ales (probably brewed in China, like most things these days) imbibe slowly, chew the fat and watch the world go ‘round by until hit upon by ‘the munchies’ . Find something suitable to eat (Hey we’re cosmopolitan guys so it could be anything from ‘all you can eat’ Indian to ‘all you can find’ dumpster

Late afternoon early evening: Walk about the town to:

a) Walk off the food
b) Walk off the booze
c) Burble excitedly to anyone willing to listen that “I’m going to see Nuno Bettencourt, you know the guy from Extreme. Who are Extreme? Only the rockingest band in the world at this point in time. What do you mean, what songs have they had that you may of heard? Don’t you remember More than Words in the 90’s. I know but it’s not representative of what they’re about, they’re so much more than that etc. No! they’re not gay, you’re gay, What! I’m gay! You know that if a real man said that to me I’d take him outside right know…. Well maybe a much smaller man then etc.

16:00 – 16:01 – Take in ALL of the local sights that Southampton has to offer.

16:02 – Repair to hostelries to ensure blood alcohol level is maintained at dangerously high levels.

Some time later – With the world a total blur, stagger to venue meet up with like minded Extreme nuts (that’s you guys) chew more fat about life, the universe and everything.

Get into venue, try to blag way into dressing rooms saying “It’s cool, we’re the guys from the local llama farm that Pat requested on the rider”
Fail to get into dressing rooms, find overpriced over watered down beer (if we’re not on the Wild Turkey or JD by now).

Sign a few autographs

Watch show with a combination of excitement and regret (for all the Pop 1 shows I’d wished I’d been at).

Afterwards decide do we get the last train home or do we just play it by ear and hang around hoping to be abducted by the Extreme circus and travel many and various lands (and London)

Aww! F*ck it lets just see what happens.

Well that’s about it really, still trying to decide what to wear, is it my home made “ Who the f*ck is Nuno Bettencourt tee shirt but I may go for something different

What ever I am due a good time and I intend to have it tomorrow.

See you there

I *think* the show is due to finish at 11pm. I was at Leeds and they were due on at 9pm for a 2 hour set ... they came on at 9.15pm and had to cut the set short so it finished just after 11pm.

Enjoy Smile

Update

The Gas Engineer's been. The boiler lives to heat another day (wasn't that a James Bond Film?, if it wasn't it bloody well should be).

Off to the train station soon.

Look forward to meeting up with some of you guys and gals, do come up and say hello. I'll be in a blue cord shirt, remember to introduce yourselves with the secret phrase "The eagle flies at midnight in the cold Russian snows"

The wait is nearly over. Hello Cleveland
